1898 John Cory and Sons Limited was registered, with a capital of £500,000, to acquire the business of ships' husbands, ship managers and owners of shares in steamships and steamship companies, carried on under the style of "John Cory and Sons" at Cardiff, to enter into an agreement with John Cory and James H. Cory, the present partners in the said firm, and to carry on the business of shipowners, ship and insurance brokers, ships' husbands, ship managers, general commission merchants, importers, exporters, colliery proprietors and agents, tramway and railway contractors, depot and wharf proprietors.[1]
