Sir (John) Graham Larmor (1897–1968), linen industrialist of the Ulster Weaving Co


1968 Died when he fell from a bridge. 'SIR Graham Larmor, who has died, was an outstanding leader of the linen industry and a man of wide outside interests, including the Housing Trust, and the fostering of better community relations. He was 71. Sir Graham, whose home was at 723a Antrim Road, Belfast, and formerly at Castlewellan, was head of the Ulster Weaving Co. chairman of the Central Council of the Irish Linen Industry and for many years president of the Irish Association. The eldest son of the late Mr. John S. Larmor, and a member of a family of liberal outlook, he entered the linen trade on leaving Campbell College, Belfast...As well as of Ulster Weaving Co.. he was chairman of its associated companies, James Murland, Ltd.. Hursts Ltd, and the Killyleagh Flax Spinning Co.'[1]
