1894 The company was registered on 27 July, to acquire the business of confectionery and preserve manufacturers of the firm of the same name. [1] The business, which was said to have been established for upwards of fifty years, sought to raise £140,000 in share capital to carry on business in the United Kingdom, on the Continent, and in the colonies.[2]
