1839 Advert: 'AN AMATEUR'S very splendid LATHE, to be SOLD, for half value. The proprietor is in attendance to show the manner in which the several novel movements are performed thereon. The lathe can be seen, and full particulars obtained (If by letter, post paid) at Mr. Greenfield's superior lathe and tool manufactory, 10, Broad-street, Golden-square, Regent-street, where some good lathe makers are wanted.'[1]
