c.1820 Established presumably by Joseph Guest (1792-1861)[1]

Later belonged to his son, John Thomas Guest (1821-1878)[2]

c.1842 Adopted style of John Guest, later John Guest and Son

1851 John Thomas Guest, an ironfounder, employed 2 men[3]

Later the company claimed that John Thomas Guest had been the first to make Malleable Cast Iron Keys (previously all Stampings).

1854 Birth of son, John Thomas Guest

1863 Birth of son William Guest

1866 Birth of son Edward Guest[4]

c.1890 the company became John Guest and Sons
