JOHN HENRY EUSTACE HART, born in Ireland on the 14th August, 1833, died in London on the 14th October, 1914.
After leaving Trinity College, Dublin, in 1852, he gained some practical experience and joined the Bombay Public Works Department in 1855. He passed through the grades of District Engineer, Executive Engineer, and Superintending Engineer, until he attained the rank of Chief Engineer, first class, retiring in 1888, after 33 years' service. During this period he was occupied on a great variety of work, including reclamation, building, irrigation and harbour work at Bombay, Dharwar and Karachi, and in Sind and other places.
Mr. Hart was elected it Member of The Institution on the 3rd May, 1870.
