WILLIAM I’ANSON, born at Richmond, Yorkshire, on the 6th December, 1846, died at Saltburn-by-the-Sea on the 9th October, 1915.

For 47 years he was in the service of the Cleveland Water Company, first as Resident Engineer and subsequently as Engineer to the Company, the whole of whose works were constructed during his term of service and principally under his direction. He was also Engineer to the Nunthorpe Water Company, and was frequently engaged as a witness in arbitration and other cases.

He was elected an Associate Member on the 7th March, 1876.
