1921/22 John McFarlane and McAlister Limited was incorporated as a private company, with capital of £15,000, to acquire the businesses of John McFarlane and Co, sailmakers, 147 Shields Road, Glasgow and John McAlister and Sons, 24 St. James Street, Paisley Road, Glasgow, and to carry on business as sailmakers, tarpaulin makers, etc.[1]

1977 The company was dissolved.[2]
