JOHN NOWLAN died on October 26, 1902, at the Westgate Hotel, Newport, Mon., at the age of fifty-three years.

Mr. Nowlan, who was born in India, was an engineer of considerable experience, and was the proprietor of Jordan's Foundry, Newport.

He was an associate member of the Institution of Civil Engineers, and was elected a member of the Iron and Steel Institute in 1899.
