JOHN POICTEVIN LEMON HOGAN, born on the 13th June, 1852, died in London on the 3rd April, 1912.

Educated at the Thomason Civil Engineering College, Roorkee, he entered the Indian Public Works Department in 1873.

After some years’ employment on military works he was transferred in 1880 to the railway branch. Later his services were lent to the Bombay, Baroda and Central India Railway Company. He became superintending engineer in 1899, was appointed Junior Consulting Engineer for Railways in 1901, and retired in 1907.

Mr. Hogan was elected an Associate Member of The Institution on the 6th December, 1881, and was transferred to the class of Members on the 17th February, 1891.
