1881 Living at 33 Galland Street, Oldham: John Robinson Pastfield (age 24 born Dudley), Assistant Superintendent Assurance. With his wife Elizabeth Olive Pastfield (age 18 born Oldham) and their daughter Florence Margaret (age 6 months born Oldham). Also his MIL Eliza Creus.[1]
1886 Birth of daughter Edith Irene Pastfield (Note: 'Dr. A. E. Chatwin, M.C., M.A., D.Paed., who has arrived in England as Overseas Director of Education for the Canadian Legion War Services, is one of Canada's most distinguished educationists. He is a veteran of the 1914-18 war. Dr. Chatwin's wife is the former Miss Edith Pastfield, R.R.C., of Exeter, who was a nursing sister with the British Forces during 1914-1918, and whom he met while in hospital at Rouen.'[2]

1903 Refuge Assurance Co. Promotion of Mr. J. R. Pastfield, of Exeter, the district manager and general superintendent, to the position of Inspector of the South of England.[6]
1904 June 10th. Birth at Exeter of son David Barnabas Edward Pastfield
1907 'The progress since Mr. J. R. Pastfield became Chief Inspector for Southern districts (three and a half years ago) has been remarkable. There are now 84 districts in place of 13, in the area under his inspectorship, and increase in the cash receipts'[7]

With his wife Elizabeth Olive Pastfield (age 47 born Oldham) and their six children; John Lawrence Pastfield (age 22 born Exeter), Student (Theology); Gladys Mary Pastfield (age 21 born Exeter); James Thomas Pastfield (age 19 born Exeter), Student (Oxford University); Olive Hilda Sarah Pastfield (age 17 born Exeter); Catherine Mildred Pastfield (age 15 born Exeter); and David Barnabas Edward Pastfield (age 6 born Exeter). 1924 February 02nd. Death of Olive Pastfield. Of 63 Blackboy Road. Probate to Florence Margaret Corbett (wife of Edward Joseph Corbett). 'Mrs. E. O. Pastfield, wife of Mr. J. R. Pastfield, Fairfield House, Alphington road, St. Thomas, Exeter. Mrs. Pastfield, who was aged 60, had been ill for nearly a year. Prior to her illness she was actively identified with the Exeter Conservative and Unionist Association, and was energetic worker on its behalf. During the war she took a great interest in the Exeter Voluntary Hospitals and other Red Cross work. She also ran the Waste Paper Depot in Cathedral Yard, organisation which was most successful, and a financial result which a number of ambulances were purchased and presented the Red Cross for use the Voluntary Hospitals.'[11]
1924 October 18th. Death of John Robinson Pastfield. Of Fairfield House, St Thomas, Exeter. 'The funeral of Mr. J. R. Pastfield, who died last Saturday at Fairfield Alphington-road, Exeter, the residence of his son-in-law, Dr. Corbett, took place yesterday. '[12] Probate to John Lawrence Robinson Pastfield, Clerk in Holy Orders.
