1905 June 13th. Died. 'It is with deep regret—a regret which will be fully shared by the inhabitants of Stroud and the district generally—that we have to record the death of Mr John Russell Buckler, J.P., the chairman of the well-known firm of Strachan and Co., Ltd„ which occurred on Tuesday morning at his residence, 2, Cullingham Gardens, South Kensington, at the age of 74, after an illness extending over some months. Although for the last few years Mr Buckler had resided in London....the late Mr J. G. Strachan, his father-in-law...Mr John Rumen Buckler wan the third son of Mr Henry Peach Buckler, of Warminster, Wilts, and he married Miss Strachan...It was largely upon Mr Buckler's advice, too. that the important and prosperous business of which Mr Strachan was at the head was converted into a limited liability company is 1890...'[1]
