1917 Obituary [1]

JOHN STANLEY SAWDON, born on the 24th August, 1881, died at St. Anne's-on-Sea on the 7th August, 1916.

Trained under the late Mr. J. F. Stow of Chertsey and Uxbridge, he subsequently became in succession Assistant to the Borough Surveyor of Cheltenham, and in 1908 Deputy Borough Surveyor of Margate, where he was associated with a variety of municipal undertakings.

In 1914 he was selected for the appointment of Borough Surveyor of St. Anne's-on-Sea, and occupied this office at the date of his death.

He was elected an Associate Member on the 3rd December, 1912.
