1857 January 18th. Married at Lincoln to Ann Brand

1857. Mention. John Tye, Millwright, Brassfounder, Brayford Wharf, Lincoln.[2]

1861 Living at 6 St. Mark's Lane, Lincoln: John Tye (age 32 born Lincoln), Engineer and Millwright employing 12 men. With his wife Ann Tye (age 37 born Sandfields, Nott.) and their two sons John Henry Tye (age 1 born Lincoln) and Charles Albert Tye (age 3 weeks born St. Mark's, Lincoln). One Lodger. One servant.[3]

1863 Debtor. '...Name and description of the Debtor, as in the Deed - John Tye, of the city of Lincoln, Millwright and Brass Founder, of the first part. 1875 Premises for sale. 'St MARK'S, LINCOLN. To be SOLD by PRIVATE CONTRACT ENGINEERING and MILLWRIGHT'S WORKS, conveniently situated in St. Mark's, Lincoln, formerly occupied Mr. John Tye, and now by Hall and Co. The Works are very extensive, and are replete with all necessary Machinery. Arrangements can made for immediate possession, thereby securing to purchaser a good business; which is now being carried on the premises.'[8]
