John Walker Buyers (1836-1909)

1909 Died. 'The death is announced at Kingussie, N. B., of Mr. John Walker Buyers, late of the Public Works Department, India. Born in 1836, Mr. Buyers was appointed an executive engineer in the North-West Provinces in 1869, and first executive engineer in 1880. He was engineer-in-chief of the Jaro Hill Survey, superintending engineer in the Public Works Department (Railway Branch), and engineer-in-chief of the Mu Valley Railway. He was nominated a C.I.R. in 1889 and retired from the service in 1891.'[1]
