John Wigham Edmundson

c.1848 Born in Dublin, son of Joshua Edmundson (1806-1848) and his wife Mary nee Wigham[1]

1875 Married Gertrude Watson in Newcastle upon Tyne[2]. Gertrude was a daughter of Joseph Watson and his wife Sarah.

1879 Engineer to Messrs. Edmundsons of Dublin, a firm mainly engaged in the construction of lighthouses[3]

1879 Birth of son John Edgar Edmundson in Dublin[4]

Shortly afterwards moved to Gateshead and was engaged in the manufacture of incandescent electric lamps, first with the Ediswan Company.

Later joined the Sunbeam Lamp Company.

1901 Managing director of electric lamp manufacturer, lived in Gateshead, with Gertrude Edmundson 46, Herbert W Edmundson 25, Gertrude W Edmundson 23[5]

1911 Incandescent electric lamp maker, managing director of Sunbeam Lamp Co, lived in Gateshead with Gertrude Edmundson 56, Sarah Watson Edmundson 30, Eva Lucy Edmundson 22[6]
