1861 Living at 41 and 43 Percy Street, Hulme: William Edge (age 57 born Manchester), Gun Maker. With his wife Margaret Edge (age 47 born Hanmer, Flintshire).[3]

1863 John William Edge listed in Slater's Directory of Manchester and Salford, 1863 as gun & patent rifle manufacturer, 2 St Mary’s Gate. At the same address were Griffiths & Worsley, agents for J W Edge. J W Edge's home address: 41 & 43 Percy St., Russell St., Hulme

1864 July 10th. Died, age 60, gun maker.[4]
