1863-70 Pupil with Walter May and Co and then as draughtsman

1870 Chief Assistant to W. F. Batho

1877 Member of Inst Mech Engineers, engineer at Clark and Batho

1881 Member of Inst Civil Engineers

1881 John W.H. James 34, civil engineer, lived in Wandsworth with Eliza James 28 and a niece Alexandra Gluika 15[2]

1942 Died in Maidstone
