JOHN WILLIAM LEYSHON died in November, 1906, at the age of 53.

He was for nearly forty years in the service of the Post Office, the greater portion of which he spent in the Department of the Engineer-in-Chief.

He acted as Engineer in the Glamorgan District, South Wales, and subsequently as Technical Officer at the General Post Office in charge of the survey of the London Post Office Telephone system.

From 1894 to 1898 he lectured at the University College on telegraphy and telephony.

He was elected an Associate of the Institution in 1894, and was transferred to the class of Members in 1902.
