JOHN WOOD died at Harrogate on October 18, 1912, at the age of seventy-two. He received his training at the Haigh Foundry, Wigan, and twenty years ago became partner with the late John Gee in the Barley Brook Foundry.

In his younger days he was associated with the Right Hon. Richard Seddon, late Premier of New Zealand.

He was elected a member of the Iron and Steel Institute in 1892.
