JONAS PROCTOR died at Bolton on the 9th October, 1912, aged 71.

In 1866 he was appointed Borough Surveyor of Bolton, and retained that office for 18 years, carrying out extensive municipal improvements.

He then took up consulting practice, and in 1887 became one of the owners of the Beehive Engineering Works.

In 1895 he established the firm of Jonas Proctor and Sons, of Moses Gate Machine Works, and directed the business until his death.

Mr. Proctor was elected a Member of The Institution on the 29th May, 1877.
