1829 Sale notice: 'Cotton Spinning Machinery.-( Without Reserve.) TO BE SOLD BY AUCTION, By JAMES FROST, On WEDNESDAY and THURSDAY, the 15th and 16th days of April, 1829, at a mill, situate at Collyhurst, two and a half miles from Manchester, in the occupation of Mr. Jonathan Andrews:
All the truly valuable COTTON SPINNING MACHINERY, consisting of one double scutcher, one lap machine for 36 inch cards, twenty-nine carding engines, 18 inches on the wire, quite new, one new drawing frame, four double heads, by Halliday and Co., seven stretching frames, ..... Also two PATENT FiRING ENGINES, for 20 horse boilers. Sale to commence at ten o'clock; ...'[1]
