1851 Living at the Pottery, Belper: Joseph Bourne (age 62 born Belper), Stoneware manufacturer employing 76 men, 33 boys, 11 women and 10 girls. With his wife Alice Bourne (age 63 born Melford) and their children Mary Bourne (age 28 born Denby); Sarah Bourne (age 27 born Denby); and Martha Bourne (age 25 born Denby). Three servants.[1]
