1891 November: A chemist of Clifton Junction when he married Amy Christabel Connolly[2]

1904 with William Burton exhibited crystalline glazes on pottery at the Royal Society.

1911 Joseph Burton 42, Pottery Work's Manager, lived in Pendlebury, with Amy Christabel Burton 45, Christabel Burton 18, Kathleen Burton 16, David Burton 14[3]
