of the London & Newport Iron Works, Newport, Mon

1850 Advert: 'LONDON AND NEWPORT IRON WORKS NEWPORT, MONMOUTHSHIRE.
The Proprietor of the above Works, finding the great and increasing demand for his “PATENT, FOUNDRY FURNACE" to claim entire attention, is induced to offer his very valuable and extensive FOUNDRY PREMISES for SALE, together with the STOCK and PLANT complete, and ready for immediate occupation. The growing prosperity of Newport and its increasing facilities by Railway render this an opportunity seldom occurring. The Purchasers will also be entitled to the manufacturing privilege, for South Wales, of the Patent Furnaces. From fifty to one hundred tons may be done on the premises with ease. There are three powerful Cranes and a Patent Furnace erected, which has been in successful operation for the last six months. For further particulars, address Joseph Deeley, London and Newport Iron Works, Newport, Monmouthshire.'[1]

With sincere thanks for past favours,

Mr. Budgen is also appointed Sole Agent for THE SALE of my "Patent Foundry Furnaces," for the counties of Gloucester, Somerset, Devon, and Cornwall, also the principality of Wales.
I beg to refer my friends and the public that in addition to my present establishment at LLANHILLETH, I have entered into the above works, where, by increased facility, strict and punctual attention to business, combined with the lowest prices, I hope to merit your patronage and support.
I remain, yours obediently,
