1861 Patent. '1165. To Joseph Fitter, of Birmingham, in the county of Warwick, Machinist, tor the invention of "a new or improved table expander."'[1]

1863 Patent. '520. To Joseph Fitter of Birmingham, in the county of Warwick, Machinist, for the invention of "an improvement or improvements in the construction of castors for tables, chairs, and other furniture, or other articles."'[2]

1867 Patent. '3410. And Joseph Fitter, of Birmingham, in the county of Warwick, Machinist, has given the like notice in respect of the invention of "improvements in the construction and manufacture of mechanism for expanding tables and other expanding furniture."'[3]
