1757 Thomas Cottrell and Joseph Jackson were in business together as type founders

1759 The partnership ended; Cottrell established his own foundry in Nevil's Court

1764 Jackson established his own foundry

c.1792 Joseph Jackson died. William Caslon III purchased the foundry and renamed it Caslon and Son

1819 William Caslon IV sold the foundry.
