Joseph Reffitt ( -1916) of Fox Brothers and Reffitt and James Reffitt and Sons

1916 Died. 'In the death of Mr. Joseph Reffitt, which took place at his residence at Harrogate, last night, another of the old-time Leeds business men has passed away. Mr. Reffitt was originally an engineer, and in partnership with the late Mr. Samson Fox before the Leeds Forge was established; and the course of their business Mr. Reffitt's genius for invention was responsible for many improvements made by the old engineering firm. The partnership was dissolved in the early Seventies, and Mr joined his father's firm James Reffitt and Sons, one the oldest dyeworks in Leeds, and situate in Kirkstall Road. On the formation of the Bradford Dyers' Association, Messrs. J. Reffitts was one taken over, and he then retired from commercial life.'[1]
