Joseph Stanley Hall (1899- )

1954 Bio Note [1]

Mr. Hall served an engineering apprenticeship with Vickers, Barrow-in-Furness, and afterwards graduated B.Sc. (Tech.) at Manchester University. He then spent three years in the engine drawing office at Barrow, gaining experience which such employment provides.

From Barrow he moved to similar employment at Metropolitan-Vickers, Trafford Park, Manchester, and shortly afterwards entered the steam-turbine development section of that firm. Most of his experience has been in the development of steam-turbine design under the well-known men who have held the position of chief engineer in the steam and mechanical engineering departments of Metropolitan-Vickers.

For the last three years Mr. Hall has been assistant chief engineer in the steam turbine engineering department of Metropolitan-Vickers.
