1845 Sale Notice: 'To De Lame Finishers, and others,.... on the premises behind Barlow-street, New Blakeley-street, Collyhurst, (by order of Mr. Joseph Thompson, who is declining the business,) sale to commence at eleven o'clock the forenoon punctually:
THE EFFECTS, four iron screw presses; large press oven, with three front plates, door, bars, and dampers; cast-iron press plates, press paper, and blocks; packing boards; hooking-up frames; new lap machine, by Ellis; deal counters and making up tables, sheet iron fencings, and numerous other articles suitable to the trade. Also, a valuable Bay MARE, 16 hands high, steady harness; excellent green painted van, patent axles; van harness, brass-mounted; stable utensils, and other effects, which may be viewed on the morning of sale. 21, Princess-street, Manchester.'[1]
