1840 Born in Newcastle[1], son of Joseph Watson (1807-1874) and his wife Sarah

1861 Iron ship builder, living in Gateshead with his parents Joseph, a solicitor, and Sarah[2]

1868 Joseph married Lucy Fenwick in Sunderland[3]

1870 Joseph Watson and Joseph Gurney joined as partners the firm established by William Clarke and Edward Benning which became Clarke, Watson and Gurney.

1871 Manufacturing engineer, living in Gateshead with Lucy Watson 32, Lucy F Watson 2, Joseph S Watson 7 Months[4]

1873 Died in Florence, Italy[5]
