Joseph Wilkinson (1804-1892)

1804 Born in Crosby Ravensworth, Westmorland, son of Joseph Wilkinson and his wife Barbara nee Clemett (sic)[1]; Barbara was a sister of Joseph Clement.

1833 living in St George's parish, Southwark., married Mary Ann Wilks in St James's Bermondsey[2]

1844 After Clement's death, Wilkinson was offered his machine tools and the contents of his workshop, valued at £4000, at that price. Joseph Wilkinson took up this offer, and he continued Clement's business, but only for a short time.[3]

1851 Living at 31 St George's Road, Southwark, age 46, an engineer master employing 2 men, with Mary Ann Wilkinson 41, Frances Wilkinson 16, Joseph Wilkinson 14, Mary Ann Wilkinson 12, John W Wilkinson 10, Sarah S Wilkinson 9, Georgiana Wilkinson 6[4]

1861 Joseph Wilkinson 51/7, engineer, lived in Southwark with Mary A Wilkinson 51, Joseph Wilkinson 24, engineer, John W Wilkinson 20, engineer, Georgiana Wilkinson 16, Ellen Wilkinson 8[5]

1871 Joseph Wilkenson 66, engineer at Factory, lived in Southwark with Mary A Wilkenson 61, Ellen Wilkenson 18[6]

1881 Joseph Wilkinson 76, retired engineer, lived in Brixton with Mary A. Wilkinson 71, Frances Wilkinson 46[7]

1891 Joseph Wilkinson 87, retired mechanical engineer, lived in Epsom with his daughter, Frances Wilkinson 56[8]

1892 Died in Epsom, age 87[9]
