1899 Obituary [1]

JOSHUA LANCASTER died in March 1899. He was identified with his brother, the late Mr. John Lancaster, Vice-President of the Iron and Steel Institute, in the control of the extensive works of Earl Granville in North Staffordshire.

In 1865 he became the first chairman of the Wigan Coal and Iron Company. A few years later he severed his connection with this company, and became part owner of the ironworks at Darwen and at Mostyn.
