1901 'On Monday, at Lambeth, Jules Dubois, 38, a Frenchman, describing himself as a "racing tipster," was charged, on remand, on a warrant, with knowingly permitting a certain house in Hayter Road, Brixton, of which he was at the time of the alleged offence the tenant and occupier, to be used for improper purposes.'[2]
