1811 Built and used a 4 h.p. wheel. In 1833 it employed 28 men. women and children in the carding and spinning of weft.[1]

1928 'The agreement has just been completed for the letting of Jumb Mill, Lumbutts, the owner which is Mr. Fielden, a member of the well-known Fielden family. This mill, along with Lumbutts Mill, was closed down in December, 1926, when a number of the operatives were transferred to Robinwood Mill, and houses were provided for them. There are still many unemployed people in the village, however, and all will welcome the prospects work on the door step again. We understand that the mill will be re-opened for spinning and doubling, and that machinery is being installed so as to commence work aa early possible. Jumb Mill dates back a long number of years, and has been run Messrs. Fielden Brothers for several generations.'[2]
