KARL KONOW VON KROGH lost his life in his forty-first year by an accident on the 27th September, 1917, in the works of the Allmanna Svenska Elektriska Aktiebolaget, Vasteras, Sweden.
He was born in Kongsvinger, Norway, and received his electrical education at the technical university at Darmstadt, which he left in 1899. For some time, both before and after passing his examinations, he held the post of assistant in the electrotechnics department of the university.
After leaving the university he was employed for some time by Messrs. Siemens & Halske of Charlottenburg, and later by the Allgemeine Electricitats-Gesellschaft, Berlin, as head of the experimental laboratory, subsequently becoming chief engineer in the transformer department of that firm.
In the year 1904 he obtained an appointment with the British Westinghouse Electric and Manufacturing Company as head of the transformer department.
Five years later he returned to Norway, and joined the consulting engineering business of J. P. Nissen, which later became Messrs. Nissen & von Krogh. He was well known in his own country not only as an electrical engineer but also for his personal qualities and noble character.
He was elected an Associate Member of the Institution in 1905, and became a Member in 1910.
