Kirkcudbright Bridge

The present five-span reinforced concrete bridge over the River Dee in Kirkcudbright was constructed in 1926 by Blyth and Blyth and Mouchel and Partners.
It replaced a wrought iron bowstring bridge with five fixed spans and one opening span, erected in 1868. Its engineer was H. J. Wylie, and the contractors Hopkins, Gilkes and Co of Middlesbrough. The lamp standards were reused on the present bridge.[1]
