KNOX TAYLOR died at his home in High Bridge, New Jersey, on April 4, 1922. He was President of the Taylor-Wharton Iron and Steel Company.
He began his education at Chester, New Jersey, where for a time his father operated a blast-furnace. Later he graduated from Princeton University with the degree of B.Sc. in 1895.
In 1902 he entered the employment of the Taylor Iron and Steel Company, and worked through the various departments until he became general manager in October 1905. Five years later he became president of the company.
In 1912 the Taylor Company became known as the Taylor-Wharton Iron and Steel Company.
He was a member of the American Institute of Mining and Metallurgical Engineers, the American Society for Testing Materials, the American Chemical Society, and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. He was elected a member of the Iron and Steel Institute in 1908.
