1942 Acquired by Sterling Cable Co Ltd; the business of the 2 companies was complementary, as Lancashire Cable made heavy duty cables (up to 11kV duty)[2]

1948 Sterling Cable Co (Aldermaston) Ltd was formed by merging Sterling Cable Co and Lancashire Cables which would bring together the management of the 2 companies[3]. Public company - Sterling Cable Co - formed by renaming the Aldermaston company[4].
