Extract from Steam Locomotion on Common Roads by William Fletcher. Published 1891.

Mr. Lee, of Leicester, sent a three-wheel road locomotive to the London Exhibition of 1862. The driving wheels were 6ft. diameter, the cylinders 4.5 in. diameter and gin, stroke. Motion was transmitted from the crank shaft to the main axle by spur gearing, in the proportion of eight to one.
