Leek and Manifold Valley Light Railway

- Using a 2ft 6ins gauge this line ran for nine miles from Waterhouses to Hulme End in Staffordshire. It opened for passengers in 1904. [1]
- 1899 The company was incorporated under the Light Railways Act, 1896.
- 1904 The line is to be maintained and worked by the North Staffordshire Railway for 99 years from the date of opening, June 27th. [2]
- 1923 Became part of London, Midland and Scottish Railway. [3]
