1902 Business failure. F. Lennon, Grocer with five or six shops in St. Helens and district.[1]

c.1910 Established by Frank Lennon in St. Helens

1919 Advertisement Frank Lennon, The Market and 81 Park Road. 'The largest retailer of high-class provisions in St. Helens'.[2]

1926 Incorporated to take over six shops and a market stall

1966 Lennons Supermarkets, St. Helens, Widnes, Ormskirk and Arrowe Park.[3]

1984 Lennons sold their chain of 41 supermarkets and 94 off-licences to the Dee Corporation. The food stores were rebranded as Gateway
