Leopoldstadt Power Station, Vienna
This entry refers to the electric lighting station at Leopoldstadt, one of two built c.1890 by the Allgemeine Österreichische Elektrizitäts-Gesellschaft, the other station being at at Neubad. The installation was the work of Siemens and Halske. The station initially contained four 500 horse-power engines, built by L. Lang and Co., of Budapest, to the designs of A. Collmann of Vienna. The station was described and illustrated in Engineering 1895/02/22.
