Lewis Arthur Parnell was born in 1912, and received his technical education with The Automobile Engineering Training College, Chelsea.

He subsequently held appointments with the Fulwood Motor Co, Sheffield, the City Motor Co, Oxford, Kennings, Derby, and the Power Petroleum Co.

He died on 3rd April, 1938, at the age of 25.

He was elected a Graduate in 1931.
