1823 Institute formed - the first in England.

1825 New members were announced. William Huskisson is President.[1]. Mr. Gladstone has increased his subscription to the Liverpool Mechanics' Institute one hundred pounds, and has volunteered the loan of one thousand pounds at four per cent[2]

1825 Chairman is Thomas Case.[3]

1833 Subscription to fund a building for the institute. Long list of names given.[4]
