"LLEWELLYN HATCH was identified with the road transport department of the Great Western Railway throughout his professional career. He was born in 1884 and entered the service of the company at the age of sixteen. After acting as garage foreman for eight years he was made mechanical inspector, becoming chief inspector in 1919, and finally, in 1929, area assistant to the superintendent of road transport, South Wales Area, Cardiff, with responsibility for the maintenance and repair of approximately 450 motor vehicles. Mr. Hatch was elected an Associate Member of the Institution of Automobile Engineers in 1936. His death occurred on 23rd May 1951."
