LOUIS DU BUISSON HUGO was born in 1882 and educated at the Cape of Good Hope University and at Cambridge, where he took a high place in both parts of the Natural Sciences Tripos.

In 1906 he was articled to Messrs. Clayton and Shuttleworth, of Lincoln, and was also demonstrator at the Cambridge Engineering Laboratory.

In 1907 he was appointed head of the Department of Physics and Electrical Engineering at the Victoria Institute, Bombay.

In this year also he was elected an Associate Member of the Institution.

He died on February 24, 1910.
