Worthen, 1895: 'All machinery of the Lowell Manufacturing Company was made after the designs of Paul Moody, at Waltham originally, afterward at Lowell, and no change was allowed to be made by anyone except with his approval. .... I recollect when the first Whitworth planer was introduced at the machine shop, and went to see it at work, and could appreciate the amount of chipping it would save. ...'[1]
