Lynedoch Station Bridge

1896 'IRON BRIDGE CONTRACT FOR GREENOCK ENGINEERS. The contract for the construction of the wrought iron girder bridge at Lynedoch Station. Greenock, has been placed by the Glasgow & South-Western Railway Company with Messrs J. & R. Houston, engineers, Greenock. The bridge is to be 25 feet in width, and three spans, averaging 75 feet each.'[1]

The iron lattice girder structure was replaced concrete beams with brick parpets.

Lynedoch station was opened by the Glasgow & Ayrshire Railway in 1869. Lynedoch station was renamed in 1898 as Greenock Lynedoch. The line was closed completely in 1966 and the station buildings demolished. [2]
