1878 The business was established by Roderick Macrae and William Dick to provide horse-drawn vehicles. The company made the transition into motor vehicles and was reputed to be Scotland's oldest car dealership.[1]

1922 Macrae and Dick Limited, of 36 Academy Street, Inverness, was incorporated as a private company, with capital of £40,000, to acquire the business of the same name and to carry on the business of coachbuilders and motor engineers in Inverness, Nairn and Invergordon.[2]

2016 The company was taken over by the coach firm Park's of Hamilton.[3]
